THE JOURNEY CONTINUES: APRIL 1, 2024

Easter has come and gone. But, what is never gone is the work Christ did for us so many years ago on Easter weekend. The permanence of our redemption is here to stay! Hallelujah!

It is an amazing, eye-opening experience to have spent all of these past 16 years working with Celebrate Recovery and more recently, the counseling ministry. In both of them I see people who are struggling living in our lives of flesh. So often, just as I had done for so long, their struggle was kept separate from their spiritual walk. The two couldn’t meet or else one would think one couldn’t be a christian at all. Christ just couldn’t see this ugly side of them/us. (Boy, do I know this action).

I don’t care what brings one to recovery or counseling, Christ is waiting to enter into and abolish the bondage of the struggle. One might be in emotional pain they caused from their own sins; they may be in emotional pain for sins done to them; the pain may be physical. It doesn’t matter to Christ, He wants to enter into this area of need we isolate so that He can take away the burden of it. An additional glorious side to this is He may even give us a chance to use this pain as a tool for Him. He waits to turn our darkness into Glorious Light!
