THE JOURNEY CONTINUES: MARCH 20, 2025

As I have begun to read through the book of Leviticus I find another huge work Christ did on the Cross for you and me I most often overlook. This bible book goes into extensive clarifications for all of the different sacrifices which were to be done to correct the sins of the people. There was great detail in the operations of the sacrifices too.

When Christ died on the Cross for you and me He not only paid the price for our sins so that we never have to sacrifice as the Israelites were taught to do, He took away all of these rules. Our only rule is to confess our sins, for then, we are forgiven. At this point Jesus is our Savior for He saves us from our sins. If we want Him to be Lord as well as Savior of our lives we have one other rule–live for Him rather than live for ourselves. This is so easily typed on the computer, but it is a daily commitment for as the Serenity Prayer says, “one day at a time, one moment at a time….” The other beautiful part of living for Jesus is His endless forgiveness for us. I know of no human who has lived perfectly for Christ except Christ Himself. We slip up, stumble, fall during this process of daily living, yet the one rule for salvation is to simply confess it.

God has made salvation and lordship so doable for His kids. What a blessed God we get to serve!
